Die erste Hürde ist genommen! 21 der 58 angemeldeten Bands schafften am Freitag den Sprung zu den drei Vorausscheiden. In Deutschlands größter Skaterhalle – dem Thuringia Funpark - trafen sich Nachwuchsbands des ganzen Freistaates beim Öffentlichen Hearing zum mega Thüringen Grammy 2006.
Ausrichter vor Ort war die Sparkasse Unstrut-Hainich. Schon kurz nachdem sich die Tore gegen 18:30 Uhr öffneten, waren zahlreiche Bands persönlich erschienen und wurden von den mitgereisten Fans lautstark unterstützt. An einem abwechslungsreichen Abend wurden alle Bands vorgestellt und präsentierten sich der fünfköpfigen Jury und dem Publikum. Den ganzen Abend herrschte eine kritische aber faire Atmosphäre. Bei vielen guten Songs gab es spontanen Zwischenapplaus. Eins war auch schon nach den ersten eingespielten Titeln klar: einfach würde es die Jury, bestehend aus Thorsten Ebener, Susanne Gebhardt, Kenny Leaven, Michael Gottfried und Jörg Einenkel, alles gestandene Musiker, an diesen Abend nicht haben. Am Ende kamen jedoch die Jurymitglieder zu einer professionellen und fairen Meinung. Die Band dachterrasse aus Jena war beim Publikum der absolute Favorit und erhielt die meisten Publikumsstimmen.
Bis 00:30 Uhr verfolgten die anwesenden Bands und Gäste mit Spannung das durch die Agentur SAYS-marketing organisierte Geschehen und die Bekanntgabe der Ergebnisse. Alle Bands und Interpreten, die beim Öffentlichen Hearing glänzten, werden für drei vielseitige und musikalisch hochwertige Vorausscheide sorgen. Neben mehreren hundert Musikern äußerten sich der Hauptsponsor, die Sparkassen Finanzgruppe Hessen-Thüringen, und auch die zahlreichen Sponsoren sehr positiv über den Verlauf der Veranstaltung.
Die ersten sieben Bands – dachterrasse, EISKALT, Flying Balconys, Under Burning Skin, The Goose Market Crew, Jovernanté und monebone - spielen live beim 1. Vorausscheid am 22.09.2006 ab 20 Uhr im F-Haus Jena und werden zeigen, was sie drauf haben.
Am 06.10.2006 folgt der 2. Vorausscheid in der Tonhalle Gera und am 13.10.2006 der 3. Vorausscheid im Lindeneck Arnstadt mit jeweils 7 Bands.
